Charles Prowse So, upon arriving at Kodiak Muni I noticed the runway was not very prominate, runway textures were spotty at best and at the far end I had water. I touched my wheels and went around a second time knowing I would not be able to stop in time. I have run into a few vector issues on these tours that have caught me by surprise. I stuck the landing on the second attempt coming in a whole lot slower and lower and more or less stalled it on the apron to make it. Any safe landing is a good landing right? Lol.
Norm Richards Kodiak has a nice runway actually.. you might have to run vector and maybe check your scenery just to make sure the scenery layers are correct. A good pilot, on a bad approach if he/she feels it is unsafe to try to land, will abort and go around or even touch n go as you did to fly a different/better approach for a safe landing and stop. So that is what we should do in sim under similar circumstances. But always better to make a fly-by in order to establish a good approach for landing. Norm
