Tours: Fall 2017: Tour Lineup and Important Items - Update as of Oct. 17, 2017

Welcome back as we are now slowly closing out the summer 2017 and will shortly kicking off a fall/winter season here at Alaska Adventures.

** Added a few more tours to the active lineup. All currently active tours will stay running until Oct 30, 2017 but Tour 91-AKA 10th Anniversary Tour will continue to run until Nov 30, 2017.

Three new tours will kick off our Fall lineup: Tour 92, Tour 93 and Tour 94 plus a Christmas Excursion:

Tour 92-Vancouver Island Hops - October 1st, 2017

Tour 93 - AKA Ketchikan Sea base Ops - Oct. 21, 2017

Tour 94 - Journey up the Yukon - Nov 9th, 2017

Tour 95c - AKA 2017 Christmas Spirit Excursion - Nov 30, 2017 and will run until the end of January 2018.

See tour lineup below.

NOTE: Commencing June 2017, for future tours will be setting up a new flight leg numbering system that will include a three digit suffix. IE 6A0. This will help all to know the parameters/restrictions or conditions of each flight leg at a glance.

The definition of the suffix and its meaning is illustrated as follows using a few examples of suffixes: "6A0",  "4G3", "5N2",

IE: - “6A0”:

6=Max landing rate is -600fpm.

A-Autopilot and GPS use permitted.

0-denotes # of Stop-overs in the flight leg (If there are no stop-overs in a flight legs this value will be 0 which means this flight is a direct flight).

IE: “5N2”:

5=Max landing rate is -500fpm.

N-Autopilot and GPS use is not permitted.

2-denotes that are (2) two Stop-overs in this flight leg so it is not a direct flight. The two stop-over locations will be identified/specified via the tour download and in blue box in the route box when you load up the flight leg.

IE: "4G3":

4=Max landing rate is -400fpm.

G=GPS use is permitted but no autopilot can be engaged).

3-denotes that are (3) three Stop-overs in this flight leg so it is not a direct flight. The three stop-over locations will be identified/specified via the tour download and via the route box when you load up the flight leg in blue box.

Please ensure that you obtain the tour downloads for all of the tours, (from the site under Downloads > Tour Downloads) as well as Blue Box at least V and now V with save ability.

These tour downloads are a MUST download and each tour download (one download for each tour), contains the all the tour information, flight plans, sky vector map links etc for that tour. In later tours commencing with Tour 66: those tour downloads contain the specific conditions and  parameters and specific restrictions in which to fly the legs as well as any mid-point or stop-over(s) landing locations that must be made within a specific flight leg. Ensure you have all the information you require by obtaining and referring to the tour downloads for each tour.

 For a full listing ot tours: open and closed date, please refer to forum announcements and listing below. All the active tours are displayed on the tour page and an accompanying download for each tour.

Again, just a reminder that there is also a tour download for each tour: which includes tour details, most with prepared flight plans as well as sky-vector map links and some with special add-on scenery to enhance your sim scenic environment.  Tour downloads are a must requirement for the new Stopover Tours. Please be sure to download the tour package for each tour as they contain vital information and conditions that directly pertain to that said tour.

We hope you continue to join us here for a great year and if you want some great flying adventures in excellent scenery areas, with a great bunch of fellow pilots, "Bush at its best", so to speak, stay with us here at Alaska Adventures VA.
