3/13 Iditarod Race Charters

Four time race winner Lance Mackey is first out of Kaltag at 12:35 AST. Charter ops are now to checkpoint 9 through 15. check the schedule for flight numbers and equipment. Good luck and have fun!

Iditarod Race

The Iditarod Race starts on March 7, 2010. Alaska Adventures will begin staging race supplies on February 20, 2010. Staging should be completed by the start of the race. Once the race begins you will receive daily flight assignments for passenger charters and medevacs/race scratches. Equipment selection will be determined by airfield conditions and will be posted with other relevant charter information. Due to high charter volume we will be operating from Merrill Field PAMR in Anchorage instead of Lake Hood Airstrip Z41. More details can be found here.

Site Downtime

As you can see the Alaska Adventures site is ungoing some problems. Due to my errors the site has been messed up. I will have this fixed within a few weeks. In the mean time the default style will work. All the broken features do work on this style. If you have any questions or feedback please visit our forums.

New For 2010

Just a small announcement about whats coming to Alaska Adventures in 2010. I will not mention everything that we have planned. You can expect to see more routes and destinations, more enhancements to the Alaska Adventures system. Also you will see some new features to Alaska Adventures. One new feature that I am excited to see. 2009 was a great year for Alaska Adventures. i would like to thank everyone for their continued support.

As stated before, we will be restarting the Water Hop Tour. It will start 02.01.2010. If you have routes flown from the previous tour, you will leave off where it ended.

Upcomming Events

With the new year just behind us, its now time to go forward. I would like to welcome our new pilots to Alaska Adventures. We will be having two tours. The continuation of the Water Hop Tour from last August. It will restart Feb 1, 2010 and will end on April 30, 2010. Then soon after that is the Iditarod Tour, which is the annual Iditarod Sled Dog Race from Willow to Nome is starting on March 7. More details can be found here. I always welcome new tour ideas. Welcome To Alaska Adventures

Welcome to the new Alaska Adventures. I hope everyone likes the new look and new system. As with all new things there will be a few kinks to iron out. Please email me any bugs you find.

We will be starting up the Water Hop Tour again very shortly. I am working on all the issues that were emailed to me. Hopefully have a fix for the ACARS real soon. If you are unable to be seen on the map or get constant errors when you file a report through ACARS, please just file manually until we get this fixed.

Manual PIREPS

Just to a heads up to everyone. I have noticed errors on the manual PIREPS. Some are showing 75 flights with 3 or 4 hours. You may be formating the time wrong. Here is the way I do it.

under 1 hour(34 minute flight) = 0.34
over one hour (one hour fifty six minute flight) - 1.56

I am looking into this and I will fix all submitted PIREPS. You can either stop and wait for the solution, or continue.
