Many of us are having problems with FSACARS. If you can't log with FSACARS switch to XACARS. Login to Alaska Adventures and download the XACARS program and than the config. When installing make sure you have the config unchecked. Copy and paste your config file into the XACARS folder in the program files directory.

First open FS and go to your gate. Make sure the brakes are on. Open XACARS and so the following.



1 - Enter full flight number
2 - Click "Get ACARS Flightdata" button ( this will fill out the rest of the flight plan. make sure you use AKAXXX)
3 - Click the "Start ACARS"button
4 - Minus out XACARS
5 - After your flight has ended, and you are parked at your gate. Click the "SEND PIREP" button.
6 - Click the "Quit" button

Check that all fields are correct before starting log. I have noticed on this screenshot it list 195 passengers for AC500.

I have tested this and my flight was recorded. We did have errors witht he aircraft not sending. Clicking on the "Get ACARS Datea" will fix the problem.

I was just fixing to send you an email about the aircraft data. All works like it should here. I do have one question. When reviewing the PIREP before filing...Where is the touchdown rate shown. XACARS data is a still a little greek to me.

XACARS will not show the touchdown rate. I am thinking of adding FSFK to Alaska Adventures. They will give our VA a discount.

Just a thought but how about going with the vafs system. I know that other airlines use it so it must be okey. Just a thought nothing else. Either one is fine by me as long as my flights and hours are recorded right that is all that matters.

VAFS is a third party software that is hosted on their server. So we will stay clear of that. Are you having problems with FSACARS?

No I am not having any problems, but it seems like some people are and I was just making a suggestion to help better the airline, nothing more. Sorry if I offended anyone that was not my intention. Just want everybody who flies this airline to be able to do so with as little problems as possible.

I do not know of any other way to record flights either than xacars fascars or vafs. The only other way would be to design a program but that is way beyond my expertise.  personally I  like both the xacars and the vafs system so as I said before as long as the flights are recorded and my hours are kept track of, I will be a happy camper. Glad to hear I didnt insult you because as I said that wasnt my intention.
